A small MUN at Centrale LYON
A mini MUN is a debate following the same rules as the MUN (Model United Nations). It is organized iwithn Ecole Centrale Lyon campus for its students, in order to help them experienced the MUN debating experience ; as it is unsual among engineer schools in France.
A preparation for the students
Another aim is to prepare them for the event that will take place on April 6th, 7th and 8th 2018, by having them experience and practice how a MUN takes place. This debateusually lasts an hour and a half (to two) and every student selects a country (they can be two students per country) and defend the country’s point of view. At the end of the debate, two resolutions must be taken in average.
MUN participants choose the country they wish
As the goal fo this experience is to encourage Centrale students to discover this form of debate, students can choose what they exactly want to talk about. Our ECLYMUN team choose one topic, however the participants can decide their approach.
An integration factor
AA mini MUN is an activity that is far from regular courses but that still allows French students and foreign students, to mingle together, hence a mini MUNs strives towards integrating all students, foreign and national together.
